Hi there, oh I'm so very excited to post this project, the top on the left was a gift from my Aunt(hi appi how did you like this?) to my three girls, and well the girls are on the skinny side and the shoulders of the top just kept dropping off of their shoulders and I was wondering what to do with that, probably add some pleats but then I came across some white fabric, scraps basically left over from my the trouser I made, and voila! I was hit with a brilliant idea!
I am no expert but took loads of pics to show how I did it, it was fun and easy
First I ironed out the shirt left side out, than cut away the top, and bit of sides because they needed to be tighten from the chest too
The white fabric was just enough to be the top and about 1/2 an inch over to go into stitching
Here you can see I took out the neck and arm bindings so that I can reuse them
I carefully cut away the neck, it was a bit tedious, since I had the whole piece and it wasn't cut from the shoulders,
Since I was shortening the neck line, made this opening at the back using this
tut from Jess over at
craftinessisnotoptional, she is my mentor, I usually follow her tuts
Sewing on the binding of neck and sleeves, that I had earlier taken out of the original top
The back looks like this
Here I have attached the white top piece and the body piece, using a straight stitch
And then top stitched it from the front after ironing it
And the sides are stitched down like so
And tada! did this to all the three tops
