Curse of the Gods (Warrior of the Isles, #1) by R.L. McIntyre

SYNOPSIS

Dare to defy the Gods?

Seanait is months away from fulfilling destiny and saving Ulster. But when Romans attack Caledonia she will fight even the Gods to save lives. The only thing she can't win against is her heart. And it's pulling her towards a strange fae prince who believes he is nothing but a monster.

Cillian is running from the crown and the trials to win it. His only hope is to hide in the human realm but Roman invaders and a prophetic warrior reveal his plan is far from foolproof.

When destinies collide and hearts are torn there is only one thing that is certain, the Romans aren't the only enemy. And sometimes destiny is a curse.

In order to survive the war with the Romans and their own destinies, Seanait and Cillian must depend on the one thing pulling them closer, their uncertain hearts.

This is YA historical fantasy series based on the Irish myth of Cu Chulainn.

NOTE: I did not receive this book free or as an ARC copy. I bought this and had to write a review!

MY REVIEW:

This book is the first in a series.

This book is about a girl who is blessed with a special power from the Gods but it feels more like a curse than a blessing.
This book is action packed, with great fight scenes, scattered blood and they are so very well written, felt like a movie rolling. So much emotions and drama here. I loved the story line, it stays true to the main characters.
The characters are well written, they are strong and able but each with a unique weakness to make you relate.
I like the description of fae lands and people, the writer did an amazing job of showing how different and ruthless this breed can be. I loved all the 7 heirs, and there is so much going on between them that one book does not do it justice!
I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Note: violence, killings, blood

I enjoyed it
